ROUTE

Can be a bit muddy at times! Around 6.2 miles

Turn right from the White Bear car park.

As you go around the left-hand bend you will see a bridleway to your right. Turn right and go through the gate down a steep hill and up the other side.

As you reach the top follow the path round to the left until you come to another small gate. Turn right, head down the lane for 10 minutes until you reach Farleigh Court Riding Stables. There is a bridleway on your right opposite Church Lane - the first part is very stony.

Continue for 10 minutes with the golf course both sides to you until you approach some woods.
You should take the first left of the bridleway - there is a blue arrow pointing straight ahead, but ignore the arrow and turn left.

Continue on the path for another 10 minutes and the path will start to go downhill with woods on your right and the golf course on your left.

When you reach the bottom you will see a road and small roundabout to your right. You need to go left at this point up the hill towards Farleigh.

After about half a mile you will arrive at the entrance of Farleigh Court Golf Course. Go straight across the entrance and proceed along the bridleway.

After a few minutes you should see a few houses and cottages to your right and Old Farleigh Road is running next to you on your right.

Continue along the path and pass two cottages to your left until you come Farleigh Court. Turn left on to the lane, and you will start to go down a hill with a sharp bend to the right.

Continue on Scotshall Lane for 10-15 minutes passing the way you came including the small gate.

You will then come to a junction where you should turn left on to Church Lane, going down a steep hill with a right hand bend at the bottom.

Once you reach the top you should turn left in to Fairchildes Lane. Stay on this road for 5-10 minutes and you will soon see the White Bear on your left.

Keep a look out for horses which you must give way to at any time!
